When we founded Kitchens by Holloways in 2005, our desire to make genuinely individual kitchens — kitchens that could not exist anywhere else — made having our own workshop a necessity, not a convenience.
We did not anticipate where this belief would lead. A workshop became a building team. A build team became the tool to shape the rooms those kitchens belong in. Twenty years later, we design, build and make — all employed, all under one roof, all working from the same brief.

Why we started — and why it still matters
We started Holloways because we believed that a kitchen made to genuinely fit a home — its proportions, its light, the way the family actually uses it — had to be made by the same people who designed it. Twenty years on, that belief has grown into something we didn't entirely plan: a team that designs, builds and makes all under one roof. In this short film, Sarah and Robert explain where that came from — and what it means for the projects we take on today.
